EV BALD MOUNTAIN Collars are made with BioThane® webbing and stainless steel hardware. Every collar is made in the USA. There is no stronger, more durable, water and smell-resistant collar on the market! Martingale collars are self-tightening for escape artists and reactive dogs, while we add a Loxx quick release clasp for lightweight convenience. 

Features

·       EV BALD MOUNTIAN collars are waterproof, easy to clean, and much stronger than leather. We love the look and feel of well-maintained leather, but leather needs constant care to retain these characteristics. EV BALD MOUNTAIN uses BioThane Beta 520 webbing, including leather-like colors and textures.

·       EV BALD MOUNTAIN collars use solid stainless steel hardware, including machine-set stainless steel rivets. Most competing collars use plated die-cast zinc hardware, and many hobbyists hand-set rivets, resulting in variable strength. Steel is significantly stronger and more weather-resistant than die-cast zinc.

·       EV BALD MOUNTAIN uses the lightweight, yet strong, stainless steel Loxx quick release clasp. This is a light duty Martingale. If you need added security, check out the PINNACLE ROCK or RED ROCK models!

Options

Colors: Tan, Brown, Black, Indigo, Teal, Violet, Green. Contact us if you require another color – we are happy to stock more as long as there is demand. We have bright Orange for a limited time (see photos!)

Hardware: The PINNACLE ROCK comes in stainless steel. Check out our other designs for brass, as well as lighter, or heavier weights.

Width: We use 1 inch width BioThane webbing for strength, and for compatibility with our stainless steel slip chains.

Sizes: Measure your pet’s neck close to the broadest part with a measuring tape held slightly taught. Space permitting, we will include 1” to either side of the target size. Err on the larger side, since larger than needed can be reworked, smaller cannot. Typical sizes:

• 14 inch target, accommodating up to 13-15 inches.
• 16 inch target, accommodating up to 15-17 inches.
• 18 inch target, accommodating up to 17-19 inches.
• Or specify your own target size.

Use

·       Clip to the slip-chain center ring for self-tightening.

·       Clip to fixed side D-ring for no self-tightening.

·       The Loxx clasp opens by pulling the plunger and unthreading the D-ring. Reverse the process to close, noting that you apply pressure around the clasp, not to the plunger itself.

·       In the unlikley event that your collar does not fit optimally, you can remove the 2 Chicago screws and shift the webbing in the tighter or looser direction by 1". We recommend you re-apply blue Loctite, just as we do with all Chicago screws.

Care

·       Periodically check the hardware for damage and material for deep cuts. This is unlikely, but a best practice we recommend for any type of gear. You BALD MOUNTAIN includes 2 Chicago screws for adjustability. Although we add blue Loctite, check them periodically for tightness.

·       Clean with warm water whenever soiled or exposed to salt water or roads de-iced with salt. If needed you can add a mild soap.

·       EV collars and leashes and collars are not resistant to strong chemicals or fire… and neither is your dog so best to avoid these.
